We enjoyed our first full weekend together as a family of three this past weekend. Can you believe that? For the past few weeks of little Casey’s life we have either had family in town (BIG thank you to Donna and Cyndi for all the help in the days after Casey was born) or Alex had to work. But this past weekend we enjoyed two full days hanging out, just the three of us. We didn’t do a whole lot except enjoy each others company and stare at Casey. Saturday was spent just hanging out around the house. Casey spent some quality time with dad and impressed him during tummy time with how strong he’s getting. He’s really lifting his head by himself a lot and getting good at turning it from side to side. Sunday, we took a walk to the Capitol Hill farmer’s market. It was Alex’s first time carrying Casey on a longer walk and they both enjoyed the Baby Bjorn that Auntie Margaret gifted us with 🙂
[I like both the Ergo and the Baby Bjorn. The ergo is great with the infant insert but it can get HOT in warmer weather with all that extra padding and Casey just isn’t big enough yet to be fully supported in the Ergo without the insert. The Baby Bjorn on the other hand is lighter and keeps Casey supported and sitting high up on both of our chests without the use of an infant insert.]
Anyway, It was a gorgeous afternoon, sunny and warm(er). It’s a smaller farmer’s market. We strolled up and down the sidewalk, enjoyed some great veggie tamales for lunch, and simply enjoyed the day taking in the sights. Sunday night Casey enjoyed another bath. He seems to like the warm water and didn’t even mind getting his hair washed and having baby balm rubbed into his skin. He did, however, object to leaving the warm water for the cooler air- an objection he made quite clear by peeing on me as soon as he was out of the bath and wrapped in his towel. Good thing we have backups!!
Another highlight of the weekend? Casey got his first piece of mail!!
