“I go down to the shore”

I Go Down To The Shore

I go down to the shore in the morning
and depending on the hour the waves
are rolling in or moving out,
and I say, oh, I am miserable,
what shall—
what should I do? And the sea says
in its lovely voice:
Excuse me, I have work to do.”

  1. I am so glad you are so close to beautiful Lake Michigan, which Louise called her “Spirit Mother.” It is magical having all that wonderful sand from Indiana all the way up to the top of Michigan. A special place for sure, and I am glad you can be there.

    • I’m glad we are close to the lake too. It’s wonderful to be able to decide I want to go to the shore and be there in 40 minutes. I’m hoping to explore it more as Casey gets older!
